    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas athletics department celebrated its sixth annual end of the year banquet on Sunday, May 5, at the Hagger University Center. Each coach from the 15 NCAA affiliated programs took a moment to speak on behalf of their program, as well as recognize those that received postseason achievements highlighted by each team’s Most Valuable Player (Listed at bottom).
  • Seven Baseball Players Named SCAC All-Conference

    CLEBURNE, Texas – On Saturday the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its 2019 All-Conference Baseball Teams and major postseason awards. The University of Dallas baseball team had seven players – the second highest behind the eight total in 2013 – earn laurels. Among the septet were two members, Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas), that notched an all-conference honor for the third straight year.

  • Crusaders Grab First Series Victory since 2017 After Holding Off Austin College on Sunday

    SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team secured its first series win since 2017 after holding off Austin College 14-9 on Sunday afternoon. Josh Abalos (Lewisville, Texas) and Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) both combined for six RBI on the day, as the team notched 11 total for the day. Dallas grabbed the early lead, but Austin pulled within one run in the sixth frame after a three-run homerun. UD used a five-run eighth to expand its lead and secure the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) victory.
  • Crusaders Split Doubleheader with Austin College on Saturday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team split its doubleheader with Austin College on Saturday. Dallas took game one 14-6 after the team notched 12 RBI off of 13 hits. Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.) picked up his conference-leading eighth win in the game, which is the most wins for a UD pitcher in a single season since 2012. Game Two involved an offensive showdown for both sides. 20 combined runs were scored in the first three innings, while just three runs were scored the rest of the way. The ‘Roos eventually came away with the 12-11 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) victory in walk-off fashion.  
  • Baseball Booster Club Receives St. Sebastian Award

    IRVING, Texas – On Friday, April 19, the University of Dallas Baseball Booster Club was recognized between the games of UD’s conference doubleheader versus Southwestern University with the St. Sebastian Award. Officers of the Booster Club were given plaques that signified this group becoming the fourth time this award has been given.
  • Baseball Senior Day Closes the 2019 Home Schedule on Saturday

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team battled Southwestern University in the series finale and on Senior Day for eight players that suited up one last time in front of the home fans. A home run by Bryon Dowdell II that scored three runs and put the Pirates ahead 5-3 in the fifth inning, would be the difference. Colton Hunter started for Southwestern and worked through trouble most of the day, but would hang onto the complete game victory.

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team opened a three-game set with Southwestern University. Arguably the top pitcher in the conference, Austin Smith showed why as he tossed a no-hitter through a 7-inning game decided by a run-rule that also featured eight extra-base hits by the Pirates and 12 runs over the last three innings for the guests.
  • Mountaineers Use Four-Run Ninth to Squeak Past Crusaders

    KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team fell to Southwestern University 6-5 on Sunday afternoon. Dallas took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Schreiner notched a four-run inning and came away with the walk-off victory.
  • Crusaders Split Saturday's Twinbill at Schreiner

    KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team split its doubleheader with Schreiner University on Saturday. The Crusaders took Game One after they held the Mountaineers to just four hits and with the help of an RBI from four different Crusaders. Game Two turned into a shootout after Schreiner scored six runs in the first two innings. Dallas used a five-run fifth inning to get back in the contest. Josh Gilliam then hit a three-run homerun in the seventh to take the second game of the series.  
  • Voss tabbed USCAA Pitcher of the Week

    Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.) of University of Dallas is the USCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Voss struck out a season-high eight batters in a complete game seven inning outing against Thomas Moore University. The sophomore from California earned his sixth win of the season in which he allowed just one walk and kept an ERA below 1.30. 
  • Crusaders Drop Non-Conference Contest at Hardin-Simmons

    ABILENE, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team fell to Hardin-Simmons University 12-2 on Tuesday evening. The Crusaders grabbed the first run of the game. Hardin-Simmons notched a four-run first inning to grab the early lead. UD brought in a run in the third, but eventually left the bases loaded. Pitching became the name of the game in the middle innings. HSU then exploded for five runs in the eighth to secure the run rule and take the non-conference victory. UD was held to just one hit in the final five innings.
  • Crusaders Fall in Finale at Thomas More University

    CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The University of Dallas baseball team fell to Thomas More University 9-4 in the series finale. The Saints used a five-run second inning to jump out to a solid lead. Dallas notched eight hits on the day but was unable to create any big innings on the day.   
  • Crusaders Blast Two Homeruns In Saturday's Doubleheader Sweep at Thomas More

    CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The University of Dallas baseball team swept the Saturday doubleheader against Thomas More University winning 4-1, and 6-2. The Saints took the early lead with a solo shot in the second inning, but Joseph Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn.) hit his first career homerun and drove in another run in Game One. Stellar pitching by Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.) helped Dallas grab the series opener. Game Two was tied at two heading into the pivotal seventh inning. Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) hit a two-run homerun to start a four-run inning for Dallas. Jamie Wallace (Crockett, Texas) shutdown the Saints in his relief outing to push Dallas to the day sweep.

  • Crusaders Stun No. 5 Texas Lutheran University With 12-inning Walk-Off Win

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team upset No. 5 Texas Lutheran University 4-3 after Jessup Scott (Lewiston, Idaho) drove in the game-winning run with a base hit to right field to complete the 12-inning walk-off victory. Scott helped lead the charge on the day with three RBI including a game-tying homerun in the seventh inning. Dallas pitching was excellent as Andrew Magness (San Antonio, Texas) pitched a career-high nine innings and held the Bulldogs to six hits and three runs along with a personal-best eight stikeouts. Jamie Wallace (Crockett, Texas) pitched the final three innings allowing no hits and no runs with just one walk given up to lead the Crusaders to its first extra-inning win since 2017.
  • No. 5 Bulldogs Cruise by Dallas in Doubleheader Sweep

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team dropped two games to No. 5 Texas Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon. In Game One both team were feeling each other out through the first three innings, as pitching shut down the opponents. The Bulldogs grabbed three runs in the fourth and never looked back. UD had opportunities, but were unable to convert. TLU put up six more runs in the eight to take the decisive win. In Game Two TLU put up three early runs in the second. Dallas answered in the third with a single run and held the Bulldogs close through four innings. TLU then went on a tear as they scored 15 runs in the final three innings to sweep the doubleheader.
  • Gents Battle Past Crusaders on Saturday

    SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas baseball team dropped two games with Centenary on Saturday as the Gents were able to secure the series win. Centenary posted 23 runs off of 30 hits on the day to win the doubleheader. UD was in the first game all the way until the end. The Gents then grabbed four runs in the eighth to slide past Dallas in Game One. In Game Two UD had 10 runs and 10 hits, but unfortunately the Centenary offensive was hard to stop as they were able to walk-off in the ninth.
  • Crusaders Cruise Past Centenary on Friday; Capture 1st Conference Win

    SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Dallas baseball team rolled past Centenary College 10-4 on Friday night in a game where UD left 16 runners on base. But Centenary pitchers combined for 13 walks and forced four errors on the night to allow Dallas to pick up its first conference win on the season.
