SPENCER LEVI OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman forward from St. Louis, Mo., continued racking up weekly accolades by being named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week. This is the 21st season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions the previous week. Levi also was tabbed Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player-of-the-Week on Monday.
Levi delivered two sensational nights by shooting 91.7 percent (22-24) from the field with at least 10 field goals in each contest, as the University of Dallas men's basketball team defeated University of the Ozarks (81-67) and Johnson & Wales University (82-65). Levi scored 25 points in both triumphs and garnered 11 and 14 rebounds in respective games for double-doubles. In his debut season so far, Levi has four double-doubles in six outings.
Levi averaged 6.5 blocks, which included an individual program-record nine on Saturday against JWU. Levi's total alone tied the team block record – which became 11 after Saturday's result. Levi ranks atop the SCAC in rebounding average (11.2) and shooting percentage (81.0).
