Crusaders in 3rd Place after Round 1 of the Texas Cup

PLANO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team scored a 300 to sit in third place after round one of the Texas Cup at The Courses at Watters Creek. Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) shot a 70 to lead the Crusaders and place third in the individual standings.

Concordia University leads all teams with a 293. McMurry University follows in second with a 297. There are six teams participating in the tournament hosted by University of Texas at Dallas.

Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) is competing as an individual this tournament, and scored the second lowest for UD with a 73 (Tied 7th). Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) added a 74 for the Crusaders.

Jake Zamora posted a 67 to lead all players in the round. He is an individual with Concordia. Teammate Seger Howell carded a 69 for the lowest score contribution to a team score, and is second individually.

The second round will be played Sunday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
