  • Calver Named Head Coach for Women's Basketball

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas has announced Bri Calver as the next head women’s basketball coach. She is the 16th person to be named at the helm for the program and has accepted her first head coaching appointment after spending the past six seasons as an assistant at two NCAA Division III schools (three seasons apiece).

    LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its 11th annual winter All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 32 student-athletes were selected to the 2018-19 squad in the sports of men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming and diving and women's swimming and diving.

    UNIONTOWN, PA - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its Women’s Basketball All-Americans on Wednesday. Vanessa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) of Dallas women’s basketball team was selected to the Women’s Division II Second Team.

    SEGUIN, Texas - On Saturday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) released the All-Conference Basketball Voting for the 2018-19 regular season. In exclusive all-conference voting by the head coaches of the league, Vanessa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) was selected All-SCAC Honorable Mention.
  • Crusaders Drop Season Finale at Trinity University

    SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team fell to Trinity University 94-60 on Saturday evening. The Crusaders (2-23, 1-15 SCAC) shot 76.9 percent (10-13) from the free throw line, but Trinity (21-4, 14-2) forced 25 turnovers. The Tigers went on to score 30 points off of these turnovers. TU also won the battle in the paint scoring 44 points in that area.
  • Crusaders Fall to Texas Lutheran in SCAC Action

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women?s basketball team fell to Texas Lutheran University 79-36 on Friday night. The Crusaders (2-20, 1-12 SCAC) were within 10 points at the half (34-24) but were outscored 45-12 in the second half. TLU (15-7, 11-2 SCAC) was led by Abby Hroch who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 31-72 (43.1 percent) and got 43 points from the bench to grab the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) victory.
  • Crusaders Edged by Centenary College on Tuesday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team was edged by Centenary College 64-55 on Tuesday evening. The Crusaders (2-19, 1-11 SCAC) dominated the paint as they grabbed 34 points in this area but were held to 1-17 from behind the arc. Dallas was also unable to knock down free throws down the stretch with the game close. Centenary finished 15-27 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter, while UD went 7-15. The Ladies (6-15, 4-8 SCAC) had a solid outing from Savanah Doty, who had 20 points going 6-8 from three-point range, to grab the road win.
  • Crusaders Knock Off Southwestern Adventist University 51-36

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team began February with a 51-36 win over Southwestern Adventist University on Saturday evening. The Crusaders (2-18) scored 28 points in the paint as three different Crusaders reached double-figures in points. UD held SWAU (4-13) to a 1-17 (20.6 percent) mark from three-point range and a 20.6 percent (14-68) from the field to grab the home victory.
  • Crusaders Tumble at Austin College

    SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team was defeated by the ‘Roos of Austin College 80-41 on Tuesday. The ‘Roos (16-3, 9-1 SCAC) dominated all assets of the game except field goal and three-point percentage. The Crusaders (1-18, 1-10 SCAC) won that effort shotting 17-40 (42.5 percent) from the field and 5-14 (35.7 percent) from behind the arc but were unable to avoid mental mistakes. AC forced 32 turnovers converting 39 of its points off of these mishaps. AC stayed atop the SCAC standings commanding the paint, scoring 44 points in this area.  AC also won the rebound battle 40-32 including 17 on the offensive side of the ball.
  • JWU Slips Past Crusaders on Saturday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team fell in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) action to Johnson & Wales University (CO) on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders (1-17, 1-9 SCAC) outshot the Wildcats on the day from the field (42.9 percent) and from the free throw line (60 percent), but UD turned the ball over 27 times to lead to 23 JWU points off of turnovers. JWU (2-15, 1-10 SCAC) also outscored Dallas 18-6 in the third period to overcome the early deficit. Dallas stormed back in the fourth, but JWU was able to hold on for the narrow victory.
  • Crusaders Edged by Colorado College on Friday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team fell to Colorado College 75-57 on Friday night in a game that saw 43 total fouls. The Crusaders (1-16, 1-8 SCAC) shot poorly from the free throw line shooting 17-35 (48.6 percent), but outscored the Tigers 25-20 in the third quarter to cut the game to nine points (55-41). CC (9-10, 6-5 SCAC) completed the fourth quarter strong outscoring UD 20-16 to take the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) victory.
  • Crusaders Stumble at Texas Lutheran on Friday

    SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team fell to Texas Lutheran University 83-36 on Friday evening. The Crusaders (1-14, 1-6 SCAC) were held to just 10 points in the first half. TLU (11-7, 7-2 SCAC) used a 48-10 lead at the midway point and a 49.2 field goal percentage in the game to cruise to victory.
  • Southwestern University Blows Past Crusaders on Saturday

    GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team suffered a 65-22 loss to Southwestern University on Saturday. The Pirates (7-10, 4-2 SCAC) outscored the Crusaders 24-2 in the first quarter and never looked back. SU outbattled Dallas on the boards 50-25 and forced UD to cough the ball up 22 times. Dallas (1-15, 1-7 SCAC) shot well from the free throw line shooting 12-18 (66.7 percent) but were unable to find any traction from the field in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) contest.
  • Crusaders Fall in SCAC Action to Southwestern University on Saturday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team fell to Southwestern University 55-38 on Saturday. The Crusaders (1-13, 1-5 SCAC) stumbled early and fell to a 21-9 deficit after one frame. After this mark, UD kept up with the Pirates attack down the stretch, but could not overcome the first quarter setback.
  • Women's Basketball edged in OT at Dallas Christian on Tuesday

    DALLAS, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team fell to Dallas Christian College 71-63 in overtime on Tuesday. The Crusaders (1-12, 1-4 SCAC) led the game the whole way up until the last 10 seconds of regulation. A late three by Trish Daily tied the game at 58 with just 10 seconds left in regulation. Both teams missed crucial free throws down the stretch to take the game to overtime. Dallas Christian (6-7) outscored UD 13-5 in the overtime period to take the season-sweep.
  • Crusaders Fall to Trinity University on Friday

    IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team lost to Trinity University 89-51 on Friday. The Crusaders (1-11, 1-4 SCAC) made six of their first seven shots to keep up with the Tigers in the first quarter. UD was only down three (21-18) after one frame, but Dallas lost momentum when they are were held to just two points in the second period. Trinity (9-3, 3-0 SCAC) went for 29 points in the third to put things out of reach.
  • Crusaders Win Tight Conference Matchup at JWU

    DENVER, Colo. – The University of Dallas women’s basketball team grabbed its first win on the season beating Johnson & Wales University 76-72 on Sunday afternoon. The Crusaders (1-10, 1-3 SCAC) had five players reach double-figures in points. Dallas scored its most points in a quarter on the season in the first two periods, notching 21 in both frames to open up a considerable lead. JWU (0-10, 0-5 SCAC) made it close down the stretch outscoring UD 29-19 in the final quarter, but UD made key free throws late to secure the tight conference win.
  • Crusaders Fall to Colorado College in Conference Test

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Dallas women’s basketball team dropped its first game after Christmas break 74-45 to Colorado College. The Crusaders (0-10, 0-3 SCAC) were led by Vanessa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) and Taylor Jobe (Queen Creek, Ariz.) who had 13 and 10 points, respectively. The Tigers (6-6, 3-1 SCAC) won the rebound battle 51-31 and took advantage of 18 UD turnovers, including 24 points off of turnovers to take the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory.
