The UD women's soccer team fell just short against hosting Birmingham Southern 2-1. After scoring first to take an early lead 1-0 lead, opposing Birmingham Southern came storming back in the second half netting two goals to take the lead and keep it for the remainder of regulation. It took only 7:04 for the Crusaders to open the scoring as freshman forward Melissa Carpenter (Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin H.S.) recorded her fourth goal of the season to give UD a 1-0 lead. Junior midfielder Natalie Weisse (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown H.S.), freshman forward Leslie Solis (Irving, TX/Irving Nimitz H.S.), and senior midfielder Kate Palla (Napa, CA/Trinity & Prep H.S.) each contributed shots on net also. Senior Keeper Jennifer Boryca (Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) saved 14 out of 16 shots sent her way.
In their season finale, the University of Dallas women's soccer team lost their final game of the season Sunday afternoon by falling to the Millsaps College Majors 2-0 in Jackson, MS. The team finished the season with a 5-15 record.
