After 75 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Lady Crusaders finally
found their grove, scoring three times in the last 15 minutes en
route to a 3-0 shutout of Southwestern Assemblies of God
University. Scoring the first goal for UD was sophomore
midfielder/defender Caitlin Cahill (The Woodlands, TX/College Park
H.S.). Freshman Summer Northern (Castle Rock, CO/Douglas County
H.S.) and Freshman Leslie Solis (Irving, TX/Irving Nimitz H.S.)
tacked on the insurance goals, and were both assisted by freshman
midfielder Marie Meagher who finished with two assists.
Defensively, the Lady Crusaders were stout, allowing only one shot
on goal the entire game.
With the victory, the UD women's soccer team now possesses a
winning record at 3-2. They will next face Southwestern University
at home on September 18th at 2:00pm.
