Women's Lacrosse falls at Southwestern University

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (1-1) fell at Southwestern University (1-0) 16-0 on Saturday. Dallas was limited to a pair of shots in the contest, while the Pirates utilized 13 goals in the opening half to pull away with the victory.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Recording the shot attempts for Dallas were senior Colby Madrigal (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and freshman Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas). Madrigal placed her shot on cage.

- The Lady Crusaders were able to win seven draw controls total, with six occurring in the first stanza. Madrigal had three, while classmate Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas), freshmen Annie Elfelt (Brookfield, Wis.) and Frances Davis (Heber City, UTAH), and sophomore Julia Shinkle (Ewing, N.J.) all had one.

- Freshman Kyla Mangham (Oklahoma City, Ok.) was saddled with the loss in the goalkeeper role. She had two saves.

- Southwestern was led by Courtney Ragland with four goals and six points total. Kate Davis and Brenna Jobb also had hat tricks going a perfect three-for-three in shots on target.

- Davis amassed five ground balls to lead the team, which collectively picked up 23 compared to UD's eight.

- Jordan Little earned the win in a complete game effort in the cage.

Dallas enjoys nearly two weeks off before returning to the pitch at Crusader Field. The Navy and White host University of Saint Mary (KS) at 3:30 p.m. on February 26.
