SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team turned in an impressive performance at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational, finishing third overall in a competitive seven-team field at The Quarry Golf Club. The Crusaders posted rounds of 296, 293, and 290 for a three-day total of 879 (+27), just 26 strokes behind co-champions LeTourneau University and Trinity University.
Leading the way for Dallas was Iain Griggs, who tied for third individually after firing rounds of 71, 73, and a stellar 67 in the final round to finish at 211 (-2). Griggs' strong closing day marked one of the lowest rounds of the tournament and helped the Crusaders secure their top-three team finish.
Mike Zhang followed with a consistent effort, tying for 11th with scores of 76, 69, and 72 for a total of 217 (+4). Matthew Duphorn and Zachary Vickers each tied for 26th at 227 (+14), while Ethan Hoang rounded out the Crusader lineup in 38th with a 238 (+25).
The strong collective showing continues a promising stretch for Dallas, which continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the fall season.
