GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team turned in a balanced and competitive performance at the Southwestern Showdown on Saturday morning, racing the 6K course at the Southwestern University Soccer Field.
Averi Garrity once again led the Crusaders, placing 21st overall with a time of 26:28.14 to pace the Dallas lineup. Eva Posada-Arrendondo followed close behind in 29th (27:29.24), while Allison Leonesio (30th, 27:31.94) and Teresa Cashen (31st, 27:32.70) finished just seconds apart to keep the Crusaders' pack tight through the middle of the field.
Sophie Barajas added another steady performance, finishing 37th with a time of 27:55.45, while Joanna McLean (51st, 29:47.33) and Kristen Ford (58th, 31:51.42) rounded out the scoring group.
First-year runners Gemma Bulcher (65th, 33:04.44), Lexy Leonesio (74th, 36:03.71), and Hanna Simmons (75th, 36:48.43) also contributed solid efforts as Dallas continued to develop depth across the roster.
UDallas showed continued progress in one of its most competitive fields of the season, setting the stage for strong team results at the SCAC conference meet.
