PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team capped its 2025 season with a determined showing at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Saturday, hosted at the Gov. Bill & Vara Daniel Farm & Ranch in Prairie View, Texas.
The Crusaders placed seventh overall with a total time of 2:12:21 and an average pace of 26:28 in the 6K race. Freshman Averi Garrity paced Dallas with a strong run of 25:42.8, finishing 32nd overall. She was followed closely by Allison Leonesio in 26:15.6, Teresa Cashen in 26:28.5, and Eva Posada-Arredondo in 26:32.4. Freshman Joanna McLean rounded out the Crusaders' top five with a time of 27:22.5, while Sophie Barajas, Kristen Ford, Gemma Bulcher, Lexy Leonesio and Hanna Simmons also turned in solid efforts to help secure the team's finish.
There were 8 total PRs in this event alone. Those include Averi, Ally, Eva, Joanna, Sophie, Gemma, Kristen, Lexy and Hanna.
The Crusaders displayed steady progress throughout the fall, highlighted by a blend of young talent and veteran leadership that bodes well for the program's continued growth heading into the 2026 season.
