Crusaders Piece it Together in Georgetown

IRVING, Texas -- The Crusaders hit the road to begin SCAC play against the Pirates of Southwestern (3-5) and every game in this series was a battle.

In game one, the Crusaders refused to go away and had the Pirates on the ropes through 5 innings. Dallas would get two runs across the plate on a Katie Duffy-Relf single bringing in Keely Mathis and Madison Carda. The Pirates would go on to match those two runs and add two more to secure the victory over the Crusaders even after SunnyDale Thies sac fly to give dallas the momentary lead at the top of the 6th.

In game two, Dallas took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to some solid offense, but Southwestern responded with a four-run rally, capitalizing on a costly error to go up 4-2. Dallas battled back, tying the game 4-4 in the sixth inning after an RBI single from Emily Luna. However, Southwestern sealed the win late in the sixth with a three-run homer handing Dallas a tough loss.

In game three, the Crusaders took an early lead in the first inning as MacKenzie Flocke brought home Keely Mathis, but Southwestern quickly responded and pulled ahead 2-1 by the second. Despite Dallas tying the game 2-2 in the third, Southwestern surged ahead with a three-run inning and continued to add insurance runs in the fifth and sixth. The Pirates' offense proved too much for Dallas.

UDallas will play at 12PM and 2PM on Saturday, February the 22nd and 12PM Sunday the 23rd in Irving, Texas at Crusader Fields.

The Crusaders will face the Mountaineers of Schreiner University and both games will have live stats available at UDathletics.com, as well as live stream through FloCollege.
