Crusaders Sweep Yellowjackets Under The Tower

IRVING, Texas - Strong offensive performances defined the series between the Crusaders and Yellowjackets, with the Crusaders picking up two midweek victories. Dallas (7-16, 3-12 SCAC) swept Howard Payne (3-11).

The opening game saw Dallas take control with an 8-5 victory, led by timely hitting and a solid pitching performance from Ava Trevino. Game two featured another strong offensive showing, with the Crusaders capitalizing on key opportunities to secure a close 5-3 win and clinch the series. Each game came down to the last out and nothing was guaranteed, just earned.

Dallas found offensive success early, tallying 11 hits and scoring in key moments to secure the win. Emily Luna (1-for-4, RBI) and Keely Mathis (2-for-3, RBI) sparked the offense, while MacKenzie Flocke and Kailey Sweezey each drove in two runs.

On the mound, Ava Trevino (W, 1-6) delivered a strong start, allowing three earned runs on five hits over six innings while striking out four. Kristiana Guerra closed the game with a solid seventh, surrendering two runs but limiting further damage to secure the win.

A balanced offensive effort helped Dallas claim game two. Katie Duffy-Relf (1-for-3, 2 RBI) highlighted the attack with a key triple, while Erika Gazalski and Lizette Sosa each added an RBI.

SunnyDale Thies (W, 3-3) led the way on the mound, allowing just two earned runs across six innings while striking out four. Kristiana Guerra earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning, sealing the series sweep.
