MAGNOLIA, Arkansas - With several athletes away for Easter weekend, a small group from the University of Dallas track team competed in a SAU meet, using the opportunity as a tune-up ahead of next week's conference championships.
The focus was on sharpening tools, with all competing athletes entered in either the 800 or 1500 meters. For distance specialists Alexander Bozhilov and Brennan McNamara, the shorter races served as anaerobic workouts rather than time-focused efforts. Bozhilov led the way in the 800 meters, clocking 2:08.71, followed by McNamara in 2:15.93 and Martin Lane in 2:54.02.
In the 1500 meters, Bozhilov placed 12th overall and cracked the top 20 with a strong 4:11.78, showing solid form heading into championship week.
Though not a high-stakes meet, the effort and intention behind the races were clear: preparation and focus for what's to come.
