IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's tennis team fell 6-0 to University of St. Thomas (Texas) in SCAC action on March 7.
St. Thomas claimed the doubles point after taking two of the three courts. Christian DeLira and Cayven Yi battled at No. 1 doubles but fell in a close 7-5 decision, while Gabriel Alfaro and Gordon Huckestein dropped a 6-3 match at No. 2. The Crusaders picked up a win at No. 3 doubles as Wheeler Ehrlich and Aidan Nguyen earned a 7-6 victory.
In singles play, the Celts carried their momentum by winning all five completed matches. DeLira competed at the No. 1 position, while Nguyen pushed his match to three sets at No. 2 before falling 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.
Alfaro and Huckestein represented Dallas at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively, while Yi rounded out the lineup at No. 5 singles.
The Crusaders will look to regroup as they continue SCAC play in the coming weeks.
