The University of Dallas has made the difficult decision to discontinue its men's and women's track and field programs, effective immediately.
"Athletics attracts a significant number of our students—and some of our very best," said University President Jonathan J. Sanford, PhD. "The decision to eliminate men's and women's track and field was an especially difficult one. We are deeply grateful for the student-athletes and coaches who have represented the university with dedication, discipline and distinction."
The university will support affected student-athletes during this transition and help them understand the academic and athletic options available to them.Â
UDallas remains dedicated to a strong NCAA Division III athletics program and to recruiting students who wish to compete while receiving an exceptional Catholic liberal arts education. Through athletics, students develop leadership, perseverance, teamwork and friendships that enrich the entire university community.
The University of Dallas extends its sincere gratitude to the student-athletes, coaches, families, alumni and supporters who have contributed to the proud legacy of Crusader track and field. Their accomplishments and contributions will remain an important part of the history of UDallas Athletics.
