GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's and women's cross country team opened its 2026 season Saturday morning at the Stormy Seas XC Opener, hosted by Southwestern University.
The Crusaders placed fifth as a team with 119 points, highlighted by a strong opening performance from Hadley Shell, who led UDallas across the finish line with a time of 21:28.78 to place 15th overall.
Teresa Cashen followed closely behind in 22:03.18, while Allison Leonesio crossed in 22:10.90. Eva Posada-Arrendondo recorded a time of 24:11.40, and Joanna McLean rounded out the Crusaders' scoring five with a 25:12.90 finish.
UDallas' sixth and seventh runners, Sophia McBride and Lexy Leonesio, finished in 26:23.73 and 26:25.19, respectively.
The Crusaders finished with a team time of 1:55:07.16 and an average time of 23:01.44.

Joshua Arnold led the Crusaders in the 5K, finishing in 18:00.57 to place 24th overall. Liam Pelster followed with a time of 20:22.77, while Jasper Holmes crossed the finish line in 20:54.00.
Brendan Weeks rounded out the UDallas runners with a time of 23:27.24.
UDallas also had Martin Lane entered in the race, but he recorded a DNF, while George Rogge did not compete.
