Dick Strockbine was the Athletic Director for the University of Dallas from 1995 until his retirement in July 2021, and was instrumental in shaping UD athletics as we know it. He spearheaded the transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division III, served on numerous NCAA committees, and greatly expanded the size, scope, and funding for the athletics department. Strockbine is also credited with establishing the UD Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the UD Athletics Hall of Fame. He was awarded the title of Athletic Director Emeritus for his leadership and dedicated service.
