RICHARDSON, Texas - The University of Dallas men’s cross country team competed at the inaugural UT Dallas Cross Country Invitational held on Saturday morning. The Crusaders finished sixth out of seven teams. Thomas Lagarde (Linden, Va.) led Dallas with a 19th place finish after a time of 17:20. Two other runners finished within the top-40.
SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas men’s cross country team competed for the first time in 2019 at the Croosader Dual Meet against Austin College. Austin College won the dual by a score of 40-19. Thomas Lagarde (Linden, Va.) led Dallas with a second place finish (11:04.9) in his collegiate debut. UD had three other runners finish in the top-10.
IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas announced on Thursday that Nick Schneigert has been hired as the head coach for the cross country and track and field programs. Schneigert takes over for previous five-year head coach and UD alumni, Matt Barber, who announced his resignation effective on September 1. Schneigert will begin his first date at the institution on Sept. 4, as he takes over as the 16th men’s cross country head coach, 11th women’s cross country head coach, and 10th head coach of the track and field teams.
IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas cross country teams have posted its 2019 schedule. Both the men’s and women’s teams will be led by UD alumni, Matt Barber (’13), who enters his sixth season at the helm. He will have both teams gearing up for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in early November. Both squads will participate in the same eight races this fall.
IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas athletics department celebrated its sixth annual end of the year banquet on Sunday, May 5, at the Hagger University Center. Each coach from the 15 NCAA affiliated programs took a moment to speak on behalf of their program, as well as recognize those that received postseason achievements highlighted by each team’s Most Valuable Player (Listed at bottom).
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) released its men’s and women’s team and individual academic awards. Eight programs from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) were included for receiving individual and/or team academic honors. Both men’s and women’s cross country programs at the University of Dallas were among those named All-Academic Teams.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Dallas men’s cross country team competed in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championship on Friday. Dallas came in sixth place overall out of 15 teams with 181 points in just its second 8K.
KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas men’s cross country team claimed 6th place at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship on Saturday. Dallas totaled 162 points, as the squad edged Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University in the 8-team standings.
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The University of Dallas men’s cross country team captured second place at the Ozarks Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Dallas netted 47 points and averaged a time of 31:19. Host school University of the Ozarks prevailed with 29 points. Williams Baptist University rounded out the top three with 58.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s cross country team competed in the 2018 Saints Invitational hosted at Windcrest Golf Club. Similar to last week, storms created a course that featured difficult racing conditions, and this time the men’s team was running an 8k distance.
SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas men’s cross country team finished second at the TLU Bulldog Invitational on Saturday. Host Texas Lutheran University won with 37 points, while the Crusaders and Concordia University each posted 49. Schreiner University rounded out the group with 94.
MANSFIELD, Texas – The University of Dallas men’s cross country team opened the 2018 season on Saturday with a 5k at the DBU Patriot/Orville Rogers XC Opener. Host NCAA Division II Dallas Baptist University scored first place with a 17.
IRVING, Texas – The 2018 schedule for the University of Dallas men’s and women’s cross country teams have been released. The Crusaders will race in seven competitions this fall, including three times in September and October.
