Billy Manley was named the 10th head coach of the University of Dallas softball program. Manley brings extensive collegiate coaching experience to UDallas, with a background spanning softball, baseball, player development, recruiting, strength and conditioning, and program operations.
University of Maine at Presque Isle
Manley joins UDallas after serving as the head softball coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle since August 2024. In the role, Manley has overseen all aspects of the collegiate softball program, including player development, recruiting, team building, scheduling, strength and conditioning, budgeting, travel operations, and field maintenance.
As head coach, Manley has emphasized building a successful program culture while challenging student-athletes to develop both on and off the field.
Pfeiffer University
Prior to his time at Maine-Presque Isle, Manley served as the assistant head baseball coach at Pfeiffer University from 2022-24. He worked extensively with hitters and catchers, structured offensive practices, conducted video analysis, designed team strength and conditioning programs, and contributed to recruiting efforts.
Dean College
Manley spent nearly eight years at Dean College from 2013-21 as an assistant baseball coach and strength and conditioning coach. His responsibilities included serving as the team's hitting coach and first base coach, developing individual players, designing strength and conditioning programs, recruiting student-athletes, and assisting with recruiting events and team travel.
College of Saint Joseph
Manley also served as a graduate assistant coach at the College of Saint Joseph from 2016-17, assisting with player development, game planning, hitting instruction, video analysis, recruiting, and practice organization.
Castleton University
Manley's coaching career began at Castleton University, where he served as an assistant head coach for the softball program from 2011-13. He worked closely with student-athletes on player evaluation and development, hitting instruction, practice organization, recruiting, and teaching the game.
Strength and Conditioning
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Manley has extensive experience in strength and fitness. He served as the owner and coach of Immorta11 Strength in Boston from 2019-22, focusing on strength training and general fitness. Prior to that, he worked as a personal trainer and athletic team coach at Life Time Athletic in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Playing Career
A versatile collegiate athlete, Manley competed in both football and baseball at the NCAA level. He played Division I football at Marist College before competing in Division III baseball at Castleton University. As a member of the Castleton baseball program, Manley helped the team reach an NCAA regional and served as a co-captain in 2010.
Education
Manley earned a bachelor's degree in Education from Castleton University in 2011 before completing a master's degree in Business Administration from the College of Saint Joseph in 2016.
