Anna is back to aid the Crusaders after an illustrious career in the Blue and White.

University of Dallas
Anna Dougherty (nee Wilgenbusch) enters her second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Dallas Cross Country and Track & Field programs. A decorated UDallas alumna, she still holds multiple school records and competed under both former coach Matt Barber and current head coach Nick Schneigert.

Cross Country Career
As a freshman in 2018, Dougherty earned SCAC All-Conference honors. In 2019, she won the SCAC Championship, USCAA National Championship, and NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship, earning NCAA All-American honors with a 38th-place finish at Nationals. In 2021, she returned to Nationals and claimed her second NCAA All-American accolade after placing 32nd at the championships.

Track & Field Career
Dougherty was a two-time SCAC All-Conference performer in the 10,000 meters and returned in 2022 to set school records in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, with top marks of 38:04 and 18:03 respectively.

Personal
She earned her master’s in Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas (MN). Married to UD alum James Dougherty, they are expecting their first child and are active members of Mater Dei Catholic Parish in Irving, Texas.
