The Crusaders lost in double overtime to the LeTourneau
University Yellow Jackets 1-2, bringing their record to 3-6-2. UD
possessed the 1-0 lead at the half before the Yellow Jackets got on
the board late in the second frame. The two squads fought it out
through one overtime period before LeTourneau scored halfway into
the second overtime for the 1-2 win.
Senior midfielder Aaron Tucker (North Richland Hills, TX/Birdville
H.S.) scored the lone goal in the first half with a double assist
by junior midfielder/forward Ryan Meske (Niwot, CO/Niwot H.S.) and
sophomore midfielder Michael Chapman (Madison, MS/St. Joseph
Catholic H.S.). The team defended their home turf with junior
goalkeeper Paul Stauduhar (Longwood, FL/Lake Mary H.S.), who
recorded eight saves, until the 79th minute of the game when
LeTourneau knotted the score at one. The two teams struggled
through one and a half overtime period until the Yellow Jackets
provided the final score.
The team will play against Concordia University on Tuesday, October
13 in Austin, TX. The game starts at 3:00pm.
