The Dallas women dominated the first half of today's game
against the University of the Ozarks 36 to 27, only to watch their
lead wither away as the Ozarks answered with 36 of their own in the
second half to beat UD 63-57. The Ozarks shot over 50% in the
second frame with 60 of their 63 points coming from close range.
Despite forcing 18 turnovers and outshooting their opponent 77
field goals to 56, Dallas suffered from being outrebounded and 9
for 37 shooting from the floor in the second half.
Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.)
led the team in scoring and rebounding with 21 points and 11
rebounds for her fifth double double of the season. Sophomore guard
Kelly Regan (Plano, TX/John Paul II H.S.) chipped in 9 points and 3
steals, while junior forward Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch
H.S.) added 7 rebounds, 8 points, and team highs 3 blocks and 4
steals.
With the loss the Lady Crusaders fall to 4-5 on the season. Their
next contest will take place at home Monday, January 4 at 6:00pm
when the Hendrix College Warriors come to town.
