The Dallas women's basketball team won tonight in exciting fashion, recovering from a 17-0 run that the Roos had early in the first half, before eventually grabbing a narrow 62-60 victory. Despite the Roo run, the Crusaders managed to get back into the game, entering the break down by only 4 points. From then on UD's momentum continued to build, and with the help of several key defensive stops late in the second half they were able to take the lead and hold on to it, earning the win.
Freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) had her best game of the season tonight. On the night, she made 5 three pointers scoring 22 points to go along with her 7 assists and 3 steals. Junior guard Bethany Roessler (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College Prep) and junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village TX/Marcus H.S.) also had big nights for UD. Sczepanski recorded her tenth double double of the season, tallying up 10 boards and 10 points. Roessler had 8 rebounds and 10 points. She also added 4 assists, a block, and a steal.
Hopefully the momentum from the big win carries over, as the Crusaders take on the Colorado College Tigers at home on Sunday, February 7th. The game starts at 1:00pm.
