Bruffey's 24 points help Men's Basketball prevail 95-77 over Centenary (LA) in SCAC-opener

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (4-2, 1-0 SCAC) are winners of their previous four, after achieving a 95-77 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana on Saturday at the Maher Athletic Center. 

In the team's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opener, Dallas grew their 41-39 halftime advantage into an 18-point victory. 

The Crusaders converted on 33-of-63 (52.4 percent) from the field, including 11-of-19 (57.9 percent) on the afternoon beyond the arc.

Senior forward Tanner Bruffey (Lubbock, Texas) finished with a team-high 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting and a perfect 4-of-4 effort from the free-throw line.

Three other Crusaders entered double-figures. Junior forward Ross Davidson (Dana Point, Calif.) had 18 points, while sophomore guards Kym Malone (Richardson, Texas) and Blaine Blackburn (Midlothian, Texas) contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively.  

Centenary's (5-4, 1-2 SCAC) Jonathan Blount led all scorers, as he amassed 26 points in defeat. 

Backed by Davidson's team-high nine boards (two offensive), Dallas outrebounded Centenary 46-29. 

Next opponent: 

Dallas will again host Centenary at the Maher Athletic Center. Tip-off on Monday, Dec. 17, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
