Southwestern stifles Women's Basketball 90-61, despite Yoshimura's game-high 19 points

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (7-11, 2-8 SCAC) allowed Southwestern University to deposit 11 3-pointers, and a 90-61 defeat ensued Sunday afternoon at the Maher Athletic Center. 

Dallas scored the game's initial field goal, but their success was short-lived. 

Valerie Logan netted 5-of-6 from distance in the first-half to help Southwestern (14-5, 8-1 SCAC) to a 47-23 halftime lead. Logan added a 3-pointer in the second-half to garner a team-high 18 points, while dishing a game-high seven assists.

The Lady Pirates shot in volume beyond the arc, sinking 11-of-31 (35.5 percent) from 3-point range on the game.

Dallas saw their deficit grow to a game-high 35 points with 11:37 remaining in regulation, as Southwestern finished with five in double figures.  

Senior guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif.) tallied 15 points in the second-half en route to a game-high 19. She also totaled a team-high seven assists for head coach Jina Johansen's squad. 

Southwestern capitalized from 19 Dallas turnovers to the tune of a 30-11 points-off-turnovers advantage. 

The Lady Crusaders were outrebounded 46-32, while allowing 40 points-in-the-paint and 36 bench points to their counterpart.
