THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The University of Dallas volleyball team (3-4) achieved 3-0 sets in both matches on Friday over University of Redlands (Calif.) and Occidental College (Calif.) at California.

These victories push the Lady Crusaders' winning streak to a season-high, three contests in a row.

Match 1: Dallas defeats Redlands, 3-0:

Dallas was able to handle the Bulldogs (0-5), triumphing in the trio of sets . The Crusaders prevailed 25-11, 25-22, and 25-13.

Senior middle-blocker Emily Caples (Walnut Creek, Calif.) was the lone UD athlete to crack double-digits in kills with 11. Junior middle-blocker Jaime Birzer (Ottawa, Kan.) had a kill percentage of .421 to help the team notch a season-high .277 in the contest.

Birzer was second on the squad, matching sophomore outside hitter Mairin Guilfoyle (Roanoke, Va.) with eight kills. Guilfoyle also added nine assists, which trailed sophomore defensive specialist Allison Seager (Dallas, Texas) by four who had a team-best, 13.

Match 2: Dallas knocks off Occidental, 3-0:

UD finalized a perfect day with 25-23, 25-19, and 25-12 results in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader day. OC (1-7) kept the beginning sets in striking distance, but fell shy in the remaining one to secure the Crusader's third-straight victory on the season.

For the second match in a row, Caples broke double figures with 10 kills to pace the Navy and White. Senior setter C.J. Broadbent contributed 26 sets and sophomore Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) pulled up 12 digs.

The Tigers were led by Claire Strohm who posted a game-high 11 kills. Tiareh Cruz added 12 assists.

Next Opponent

Dallas continues its road trip in California on Saturday. The Crusaders will take on Pomona Pitzer at 11:30 a.m, before concluding the quartet of affairs in two days with Chapman University at 4 p.m.
