MARSHALL, Texas -- The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their season opener against the East Texas Baptist University (TX) 1-0 on Friday, with a final score of 2-1. Dallas falls to 0-1 on the year.
The Crusaders were in control early on but the ETBU Tigers battled back in the second period. The Crusaders' Braylon Lee netted their first goal at the under 6 minute mark, then the Tigers began their comeback in the second period with back-to-back goals. The Crusaders were neck and neck with the Tigers up until 5 minutes to the 90th minute, when the Tigers took a 2-1 lead.
Dallas had six shots in the first period and nearly matched that effort with five in the second period. ETBU had seven shots in the first period, with one on the goal. The only save in the first half was supplied by Jaxon Mast of Dallas, on a goal attempt by ETBU, that shot came in the 20th minute. The Tigers keeper saved the Crusaders' would-be tying goal at 62nd minute.
The Crusaders managed to get a few attempts on the goal late but the Tigers managed to keep us off the board in the end.
