MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- The University of Dallas volleyball team was hosted by Rhodes College, including matches against the host team, Millsaps College, Elmhurst College, and Moravian. Games were played on Friday and Saturday.
The Crusaders played in four contests and ended the weekend with a season record of 0-7. Dallas battled Friday in the first set against Millsaps, recording 12 kills and scoring 21 points. Dallas would go on to drop this set and ultimately fall in 3 sets. Later that evening Dallas would get a chance to bounceback against Elmhurst. The BlueJays did not allow much in the way of momentum in any of the three sets, Dallas would end the day in 3 sets.
The Crusaders settled into their Saturday match up against the host team of Rhodes College and found something in set two, winning the set 25-18. The Crusaders would fall in 4 sets but continued to fight. The weekend would end in a competitive 3 sets with a 3-0 loss to the Moravian Greyhounds.
A'talia Kelly had a team high 9 kills in the final match against Moravian, 2 blocks and 2 service aces.
The Crusaders managed to average at least 20 kills across the four games this weekend.
