IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's basketball team wrapped up its trip to Tacoma with two tightly contested matchups, falling 81-67 to Pacific Lutheran on Friday and coming up just short in a 77-73 battle against Puget Sound on Saturday.
Game 1 at Pacific Lutheran (11/21)
UDallas led 39-35 at halftime before Pacific Lutheran surged in the second half. Thomas Fleming paced the Crusaders with 20 points and four threes, while Chandler Holmes and Michael Kennedy added 10 points each, with Kennedy pulling down 9 rebounds. Johny Olmsted scored 9, and Terrence Bryant added 6 points and 5 boards, but PLU's strong finish sealed the result.
Game 2 at Puget Sound (11/22)
The Crusaders bounced back with an inspired effort, shooting 46% after halftime and pushing the Loggers to the wire. Johny Olmsted delivered a standout 24-point performance, going 10-13 at the line. Fleming followed with 15 points, Holmes added 13, and Bryant chipped in 12. Kris Burgan controlled the glass with a game-high 13 rebounds, while Luke Paton provided key minutes off the bench. A late surge by Puget Sound proved to be the difference in the closing moments.
