IRVING, Texas -- The Crusaders opened up the season against the Comets of UT-Dallas (3-0) and the three matchups did not lack scoring.
In game one, the Crusaders were blanked by the Comets,10-0, battling through a scoring deficit earning four total hits by Reed Morales, Ryan Metcalf, Andrew Gaspar and Tyler Espinosa. Although Dallas was shut out there were multiple moments the Crusaders were able to build upon heading into game two.
In game two, Jayden Rodriguez, had 2 strikeouts, leading the way on defense for the Crusaders. The Comets were at bay momentarily and then popped off for 9 runs in the 6th inning to end the game early at the bottom of the 7th.
In game three, the Crusaders Caleb Hohman would get home first making in 1-0 for Dallas and Ethan Thompson-Nguyen, Nathan Miller, Lucas Aguirre had 3 strikeouts, sending a message to the Comets that we were here to compete. The Comets handed us a ten run deficit in the bottom of the third and never looked back. The Crusaders ended the game with 7 unanswered runs.
UDallas will play at 12PM and 3PM on Saturday the 15th and 1PM on Sunday the 16th in Irving, Texas. The Crusaders will face the Pirates of Southwestern University and both games will have live stats available at UDathletics.com, as well as live stream.
