IRVING, Texas –– The Crusaders faced a tough challenge on Friday evening as they hosted the Tigers of Trinity at Crusader Field, falling 3-0 despite a strong showing in goal.
Dallas goalkeeper Ella Charles was tested throughout the match and came up with an impressive 12 saves, keeping the Crusaders within striking distance as Lyon pushed the attack. The visitors struck late in the first half with a penalty kick, then added two more goals in the second half to secure the win.
While Dallas was unable to generate offense, several Crusaders logged valuable minutes across the field, including Nevaeh Coronado and Megan Morales, who both went the full 90. The back line held firm for stretches of play, but the Scots' pressure ultimately broke through.
