IRVING, Texas - Jordan Stickler has been named the 21st head coach in University of Dallas baseball history, taking over the program he once played for and has helped lead as an assistant coach since May 2021.

A former Crusader standout, Stickler brings more than five years of coaching experience within the program, a strong background in player development, recruiting, and a deep understanding of the University of Dallas community. He was part of the coaching staff that guided the Crusaders to a 21-15 overall record in 2024, marking the program's best season in more than a decade. That year, Dallas also posted a 9-11 record in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play.

As an assistant, Stickler has directed offensive and defensive strategy, designed practice plans, led national recruiting efforts, and implemented data-driven player development through Rapsodo and Blast Motion technology. His offensive approach helped the Crusaders produce a .398 team on-base percentage and steal 69 bases at an 88% success rate during the 2024 campaign.

Playing Career

Stickler played four seasons for the Crusaders from 2015-19, establishing himself among the program's all-time leaders. He ranks second in career stolen bases with 82 and third in career runs scored with 134. He also recorded a 57-game streak of reaching base safely.

His collegiate honors include three All-Conference selections, an All-Region selection, and USCAA All-American recognition. Stickler also earned All-Conference Academic Honor Roll honors in each of his four seasons, reflecting his commitment to achievement both on the field and in the classroom.

Coaching and Player Development

Since joining the UDallas coaching staff in 2021, Stickler has played an integral role in the development of Crusader student-athletes. His responsibilities have included in-game strategy, individual player development, recruiting, scheduling, and preparation for a roster of more than 38 players. He has also helped foster a culture of academic achievement, with 19 baseball student-athletes earning recognition on the 2026 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Beyond his work with the Crusaders, Stickler founded Styx Baseball Academy in 2020. The Dallas-Fort Worth-based training program has worked with more than 200 athletes and serves more than 45 players each season. Through the academy, he oversees instruction, individualized training programs, budgeting, staffing, and scheduling while helping young athletes develop their skills and pursue collegiate opportunities.

Education and Professional Experience

A two-time University of Dallas graduate, Stickler earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business in 2019, graduating cum laude, before completing his Master of Business Administration in 2024 through the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business.

As a former player, longtime assistant, and alumnus, Stickler assumes leadership of a program with which he has longstanding ties, bringing continuity, familiarity, and a commitment to developing student-athletes
