IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas athletics department continues to gain national recognition as its Sports Information Director, Delvin Wilson has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Unite Convention Attendance and Inclusion Grant, an honor awarded to just 22 members nationwide from a pool of more than 150 applicants.
The grant reflects CSC's commitment to access, inclusion, and professional development within the collegiate sports communications profession. Recipients were chosen by a CSC selection committee comprised of executive board members, staff, and leaders of special interest groups, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated meaningful contributions to their institutions and the profession.
For the University of Dallas, the recognition represents more than individual achievement and it reflects a period of unprecedented growth and visibility for UDallas Athletics.
Since arriving in Irving, Wilson has transformed the department's digital presence and communication strategy. Under his leadership, the Crusaders' social media platforms have evolved into dynamic storytelling channels that celebrate student-athlete achievement, elevate program visibility, and connect the University of Dallas community with audiences far beyond campus. Through consistent branding, enhanced visual storytelling, and expanded real-time coverage, UDallas Athletics has seen a measurable increase in engagement, reach, and overall awareness.
Beyond social media, the department's mass communication efforts have expanded significantly. From comprehensive game coverage and feature storytelling to timely news releases and multimedia integration, the University of Dallas athletics narrative has grown stronger, more consistent, and more impactful. These efforts have helped shine a spotlight on Crusader student-athletes, coaches, and programs, ensuring their stories resonate not only within Irving, but across the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the broader collegiate athletics landscape.
His influence extends well beyond the University of Dallas campus. With more than five years of dedicated service in collegiate athletics communications, he has contributed to the profession at multiple levels, including roles and collaborative efforts involving Texas Tech University, Conference USA, and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Across each stop, his work has reflected a commitment to elevating student-athlete voices, strengthening institutional storytelling, and advancing the mission of college athletics.
For the University of Dallas, it affirms the continued rise of Crusader Athletics' communications presence and the leadership driving it forward.
AD, Jarred Samples adds, "Delvin approaches athletic communications with an understanding that storytelling matters. He is thoughtful and deliberate in ensuring that student-athletes, coaches, and staff are represented with accuracy, respect, and authenticity. Through his work across digital platforms, game-day communications, and media relations, he actively elevates all voices, reinforcing the idea that athletic success and personal identity are not separate narratives but interconnected ones.
Beyond representation, Delvin is a strong advocate for inclusive professional practices. He fosters collaboration across departments and models cultural awareness in different environments, setting a standard for ethical communication. His leadership reflects a clear understanding of the responsibility sports information professionals hold in shaping public perception, and he uses that responsibility to promote fairness and mutual respect within collegiate athletics."
As he prepares to attend CSC Unite 2026, the honor serves as both recognition of past contributions and an investment in the continued growth of University of Dallas athletics communications. As well as ensuring the Crusader story continues to reach new audiences and inspire the next generation of student-athletes.
