Crusaders leave South Texas looking for answers

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Dallas women's basketball team fell 68-65 to Concordia (TX) on Friday at Concordia Fieldhouse.

The Crusaders opened strong, jumping out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter behind sharp shooting and active defense. Dallas continued to compete through the middle frames, holding a slim 35-28 advantage at halftime before Concordia began to rally.

In the fourth quarter, the Tornados surged late, outscoring UDallas 25-19 to take control down the stretch. Despite a poised effort and multiple chances in the closing minutes, the Crusaders were unable to reclaim the lead.

Dallas finished the night shooting 41.3 percent from the field, grabbing 36 rebounds with 16 second-chance points and scoring 22 points in the paint.

Top Performers – Game One

Isabelle Chevalier led Dallas with 18 points, adding seven rebounds in 35 minutes.
Gabriella Barrera chipped in 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
Lexi Arzate finished with seven points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a well-rounded effort.


SEGUIN, Texas — Dallas returned to the court on Saturday, falling 65-38 to Texas Lutheran at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Crusaders struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, scoring just 17 points and trailing 31-17 at the break. Dallas showed more fight in the third quarter, scoring 16 points and generating better looks offensively.

Texas Lutheran pulled away in the fourth, using size and defensive pressure to seal the win. Dallas finished with 37 rebounds but was limited to 21.7 percent shooting from the field.

Top Performers – Game Two

Isabelle Chevalier paced UDallas with 11 points, knocking down three three-pointers.
Gabriella Barrera added seven points and four assists.
La'Aria Miller contributed four points and five rebounds off the bench.
