Senior Weekend spoiled by top ranked Bulldogs

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team closed out its Senior Weekend series against Texas Lutheran, dropping two of three contests but rallying for a strong finish in the finale at Crusader Field.

UDallas (12-27) collected 18 hits across the three-game set, highlighted by standout performances from Walker Alsobrooks, Dylan Roscopf, and Dylan Thane. Texas Lutheran (29-12) used timely hitting and big innings to secure the series victory.

In Game 1, Texas Lutheran jumped ahead early with five runs across the second and third innings and never looked back in an 8-3 win. Dylan Roscopf led UDallas with two hits and an RBI, while Caleb Mize drove in two runs during a sixth-inning rally. Liam Mosley went 7.0 innings on the mound, allowing six runs on 11 hits while taking the loss.

Game 2 proved challenging for the Crusaders, as Texas Lutheran's offense erupted for 17 runs on 17 hits in a 17-0 decision. The Bulldogs plated runs in six different innings, including a six-run seventh to pull away. UDallas managed three hits in the contest, with Jordan Escamilla, Reed Morales, and Adan Villarreal each recording one. George Clahane was charged with the loss.

UDallas responded in Game 3 with a gritty 3-2 victory to close the weekend on a high note. Walker Alsobrooks delivered a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, scoring all three runs for the Crusaders. Dylan Thane added two hits and two RBIs, including the go-ahead double in the eighth inning.

On the mound, Dominic Gill earned the win with 4.1 scoreless innings to start the game, while Keller Shamburger secured the save with 2.1 shutout innings to close it out.
