SEGUIN, Texas — The University of Dallas volleyball team battled Texas Lutheran University in a four-set Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 at Memorial Gymnasium.
Texas Lutheran took the opening two sets, 25-11 and 25-17, but UDallas responded with a 25-21 victory in the third set to extend the match. The Bulldogs closed out the fourth set, 25-23, to secure the conference victory.
Faith Harris and Ja'Niyah Boudreaux led the Crusaders with seven kills apiece, while Skylar Applewhite added six. UDallas recorded 31 kills, four aces and five blocks while posting 80 digs defensively.
Harris led the Crusaders with 22 digs, followed by Gisele Morales with 17 and Jordan Jackson with 16. Morales and Anais Ibarra each recorded 10 assists, while Jackson and Boudreaux added two blocks apiece. Kaylee Douglas led UDallas with three blocks.
