Crusaders Dominant in Final Day of Classic

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas volleyball team closed the 2026 Crusader Classic in strong fashion Saturday, earning a pair of victories at the Maher Athletic Center to finish the weekend 3-1 and carry momentum into the remainder of the season.

The Crusaders opened the final day with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Lyon College, winning 25-15, 25-18 and 25-23.

UDallas controlled the match from the opening serve, posting a .188 team hitting percentage while holding Lyon to a .036 mark. The Crusaders also held advantages in kills (35-25), aces (13-8), blocks (8-4), assists (34-24) and digs (52-42).

Faith Harris led the Dallas offense with 10 kills, while Jordan Jackson added eight and Skylar Applewhite recorded six. Harris, Ava Jackson and Jordan Jackson each registered three service aces.

Applewhite anchored the Crusader defense at the net with four blocks, while Harris added two. Corrine Brown and Anais Ibarra helped orchestrate the offense with 15 and 14 assists, respectively.

Ava Jackson turned in a strong all-around defensive performance, recording a match-high 17 digs. Harris added 13 digs, while Gisele Morales finished with nine.
 

UDallas carried that momentum into its final match of the tournament, battling Belhaven University to a 3-1 victory by scores of 25-16, 14-25, 25-17 and 25-22.

The Crusaders again controlled the statistical battle, finishing with a .180 hitting percentage compared to .050 for Belhaven. UDallas recorded advantages in kills (46-34), blocks (6-5), assists (46-34) and digs (61-56).

Harris and Jordan Jackson paced the attack with 12 kills apiece, while Applewhite added eight. Morales led UDallas with three service aces, while Ibarra recorded two.

Ibarra finished with 14 assists, while Ava Jackson contributed 11 and Brown added 10. At the net, Applewhite recorded three blocks, Brown added two and Ellie Karasek finished with one.

Ava Jackson once again led the defensive effort, collecting a match-high 20 digs. Jordan Jackson added 12 digs, while Harris finished with 11.

With the two victories, UDallas completed the Crusader Classic with a 3-1 record, including wins over McMurry and Lyon and a pair of strong performances against Hardin-Simmons and Belhaven.

The Crusaders' 2026 campaign now moves forward with a 3-1 overall record, having opened the season with three victories in four matches on their home court.
