Ty Adams was named the 17th head coach of the University of Dallas women's basketball program. He recently completed his first season as head coach of the University of Dallas women’s basketball program.
In 2024-25, Adams guided the Crusaders through a year of growth and development, closing the season with a 3-22 overall record and a 2-14 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play, capped by a win in the season finale.
Adams has added to the roster for the 2025-26 season with around 10 new faces in his first full recruiting season.Â
Colorado College
Adams came to UDallas following three seasons as an assistant coach for the Colorado College men’s basketball team, where he played a key role in the Tigers’ run to the 2023-24 SCAC championship game—their first appearance in the title game since 2016.
Falcon High School
Prior to his collegiate coaching career, Adams spent 11 years leading the Falcon High School (Colo.) girls basketball program. Under his leadership, Falcon was a perennial state tournament qualifier and achieved its best season in program history in 2020-21, finishing 15-2 overall and 10-0 in conference play, earning a berth in the Great 8. That same year, Adams was honored as the conference’s Coach of the Year. He also served as the Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) Girls Basketball President during his tenure.
Air Force
A United States Air Force veteran, Adams served 20 years and competed on base teams for 12 seasons, squaring off against collegiate-level athletes throughout his service.
Christopher Newport College
Before his military career, he competed in track and field at Christopher Newport College in 1992-93.
Personal
Adams holds a master’s degree in Adult Education and Training and a bachelor’s degree in Management. He and his wife, Kendra, have three children—Khiya, Jade, and Tarike II. Both daughters played Division II basketball at CSU-Pueblo after starring at Falcon under their father’s coaching, while Tarike II played at Otero Junior College.
