In their first game of the Mason Classic hosted by Austin
College in Sherman, TX, the Dallas women lost a nail biter to
Spalding University, 38-42. The loss puts the Crusaders at 1-1 in
the short season with a matchup against Texas Lutheran University
tomorrow afternoon in their final game of the Mason Classic.
Possessing a 22-18 halftime lead, UD couldn't hold on as
Spalding outscored them by eight in the final frame to pull out the
comeback victory. Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village,
TX/Marcus H.S.) once again led UD in scoring with 10 points while
grabbing another team high with 8 rebounds. She also dished out a
team high 3 assists. Freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City,
CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) finished second on the team with 9 points and
grabbed 6 rebounds.
The 1-1 Crusaders take on Texas Lutheran University in Sherman, TX
tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm.
