In their second game of the Mason Classic in Sherman, TX the
Dallas Crusaders prevailed in a see-saw battle over the Texas
Lutheran University Bulldogs. UD overcame a 2 point deficit at the
half, and outscored the Bulldogs by 5 in the latter frame in
walking away with the hard fought, 74-71 victory.
Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.)
powered the UD offense, posting her second double-double of the
season with a team high 23 points and 12 boards, whileshe also
adding an assist. Freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City,
CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) was the focal point of the offense dishing out
a team high 8 assists while contributing 8 points and 3 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Brielle Money (Dallas, TX/Dallas Christian Academy)
posted 20 points and 4 rebounds. Sophomore forward Lauren Ferguson
(Sunnyvale, TX/Dallas Christian Academy) just missed a
double-double with 10 rebounds and 9 points, and junior guard
Bethany Roessler (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College prep) had a team high
5 steals in the contest.
The win moved the Lady Crusaders to 2-1 on the year. They'll
continue their season at home, next Tuesday at 6:00 pm when they
host Millsaps College.
