In the first of two meetings between the UD women's
basketball team and the Lynx of Rhodes College, it was the Lynx
that squeaked out the 59-57 overtime victory. The two teams found
themselves in a 50-50 deadlock after the second half, and Rhodes
outscored UD by two in the overtime frame to pick up the win.
Prior to the game Dallas honored junior forward Cara Sczepanski
(Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) who registered her 1,000 point
in the last home game and came into the contest with 1,019 points.
Sczepanski kept up her hot hand to finish with her fourth double
double of the season on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard
Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) led the team in
scoring with 14 points and a team leading 4 steals, and sophomore
guard Brielle Money (Dallas, TX/Dallas Christian Academy) led the
team in assists with 5, while scoring 7 points and picking up 2
steals. Sophomore guard Kelly Regan (Plano, TX/John Paul II H.S.)
got into the action with 9 rebounds, 5 points, 2 steals, and 1
block, and junior forward/center Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop
Lynch H.S.) hauled down 8 rebounds in her first game of the
season.
Dallas takes to the court for one last game in 2009 as they face
the Lawrence University Vikings tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm.
