The UD women fell victim to the Vikings of Lawrence University
Sunday afternoon by the score of 65-70 in what was a close contest
up until the last seconds of the game. After falling behind 40-33
at the break, the Crusaders shot 42.4 percent from the field
compared to the Viking's 25.7 percent, but the comeback
effort was not enough. Dallas also dominated the boards
outrebounding Lawrence 50-39 despite the loss.
junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.)
and sophomore guard Brielle Money (Dallas, TX/Dallas Christian
Academy) led the team in points with 13 a piece, and sophomore
forward Kelly Regan (Plano, TX/John Paul II H.S.) led the team with
8 rebounds followed by Money with 6 and Sczepanski with 5..
Freshman point guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel
H.S.) finished with 11 and a team leading 4 assists. Defensively,
Sczepanski lead the Crusaders with 3 blocks and 4 steals.
After the break UD will head to Arkansas for their 2010 opener
where they face the University of the Ozarks on Saturday, January
2, at 2:00pm.
