The Lady Crusaders lost a well-fought game to the Chapman
University Panthers Sunday afternoon in the Maher Center. In a high
scoring second half, Dallas scored 41 points on 54% shooting from
the field. However, this great effort proved not to be enough and
the Crusaders fell to 8-9 on the season.
Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.)
led Dallas in scoring with 23 points in only 25 minutes. She made 8
of her attempted 12 field goals and hit 7 of her 10 free throw
attempts.
Sophomore guard Brielle Money (Dallas, TX/Dallas Christian
Academy) scored 18 points while shooting 50% from the field and
playing a team-high 36 minutes. Junior forward Joirdan Cole (Plano,
TX/Bishop Lynch H.S.) led the team in rebounding pulling in 6
offensive rebounds and 4 defensive rebounds. She scored 11 points
giving her a double-double in only 23 minutes while adding a
team-leading 2 blocks. Freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City,
CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) took only 3 shots from the field, but dished
out a team leading 9 assists to go along with 4 points and a
steal.
After playing two games in three days, the Lady Crusaders now have
five days until their next contest. Their next contest is at 1:00
pm on Saturday, January 23rd against East Texas Baptist University
in Marshall, TX.
