SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's basketball team (1-2) fell to LeTourneau University, 61-68, Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Austin College Bob Mason Classic.
Four Crusaders were knotted up on the stats sheet, points wise. Freshman guard Braeton Hightower (Sperry, Okla./Owasso H.S.) led the way for UD, with 13 points. Others reaching double-digits include sophomore guard Drew Assinesi (Pasadena, Calif./La Salle H.S.), senior guard/forward Noah Pettit (Fairfax, Calif./Sir Francis Drake), and Matt Kewell (Coto de Caza, Calif./JSerra Catholic H.S.). Assinesi finished with 12 points, on 5-8 shooting from the field. Pettit went 4-of-11, for ten points, while Kewell made five of his nine field goals on the day, finishing with 11 ponits.
Dallas had trouble containing LeTourneau's Kendrae Carter, who recorded a double double. Carter went 12-of-19 for 24 ponts, while snatching 12 rebounds.
Looking to get back on the winning track, up next for the Crusaders will be a trip to Millsaps College against the Majors, on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
