IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team wrapped up a home weekend of SCAC play, falling 3-1 to Concordia (TX) on Friday evening before a 3-1 setback to Texas Lutheran on Sunday afternoon.
On Friday, the Crusaders went toe-to-toe with a strong Concordia (TX) side. The Tornados opened the scoring in the 20th minute and held a 1-0 lead at halftime. Dallas found the equalizer in the 70th minute when Andres San Ramon netted his first goal of the season, but Concordia quickly responded with two late goals to secure the 3-1 win.
In Sunday's match, San Ramon struck again early to give Dallas a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. However, Texas Lutheran answered with a pair of goals before halftime and added one more in the second half to take the 3-1 victory. The Crusaders tallied eight shots, including five on target, while goalkeeper Malachi Varghese recorded seven saves in a busy afternoon.
Dallas moves to 0-10-0 overall and 0-6-0 in SCAC play. The Crusaders will look to regroup as conference play continues.
