IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's basketball team spent the weekend in Forest Grove, Oregon, facing two strong Northwest Conference opponents. The Crusaders fell 76-51 to Pacific (OR) on Friday before closing the trip with a 79030 loss to Puget Sound on Saturday.
Game 1 at Pacific (OR) (11/21)
UDallas opened with a competitive first quarter but struggled through a cold middle stretch as Pacific pulled away. Sarah Mirza led the Crusaders with 14 points off the bench, while Kathleen Santos added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Maria Podskarbi controlled the glass with a team-high 16 rebounds, and Adriana Medina and Isabelle Chevalier each chipped in 4–5 points. Dallas outscored Pacific in the first and fourth quarters but couldn't overcome Pacific's strong second-half surge.
Game 2 vs. Puget Sound (11/22)
Dallas faced a sharp-shooting Puget Sound squad and couldn't find consistent scoring in a tough afternoon matchup. Mele Sake and Carmen Cruz led UPS, while the Crusaders were paced by Kathleen Santos with 6 points, Hailey Hawthorne with 4 points and 6 rebounds, and Gabriella Barrera who added 5 off the bench. Podskarbi grabbed 7 boards, and Hawthorne added another solid defensive effort, but UPS' depth and shooting proved too much.
UDallas moves to 1-5 on the season and returns home looking to regroup as non-conference play continues.
