IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team generated steady offense throughout the weekend but was unable to slow key late rallies from Centenary College of Louisiana, splitting a three-game series at Crusader Field.
UDallas (8-15) recorded 37 hits and 23 runs across the series, highlighted by strong offensive performances from Dylan Goddard, David Laranjo, and Cody Jenkins. Centenary (11-14) used timely extra-base hits and a decisive eighth-inning surge in the finale to secure the series victory.
In game one, the Crusaders kept pace early with RBI hits from Nate Curtis and Nomar Duran to tie the game through four innings. Curtis finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Dylan Roscopf went 3-for-4 at the plate. Centenary, however, steadily built its lead with multiple multi-run innings, including a two-run homer from Vance Sartor in the eighth, to take a 10-5 decision.
Game two saw UDallas deliver its most complete performance of the weekend. The Crusaders exploded for six runs in the second inning, highlighted by RBI singles from Reed Morales, Walker Alsobrooks, David Laranjo, Andrew Israel, and Cody Jenkins. Arthur Ruff earned the win on the mound with 5.0 innings of work before Jayden Rodriguez tossed 4.0 scoreless innings in relief to secure the 13-4 victory.
