HOUSTON, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team ran into a hot offense from University of St. Thomas, dropping a three-game road series despite strong individual performances and a competitive opener at Reckling Park.
UDallas generated 21 hits across the weekend but struggled to capitalize on early opportunities as St. Thomas (7-10) used timely hitting and big early innings to take control of the series.
In game one, the Crusaders struck first in the opening inning when David Laranjo grounded out to bring home Luke Gill. Gill led the offense with three hits, while Dylan Goddard added two hits and three stolen bases. Liam Mosley delivered a gritty outing on the mound, tossing a complete-game eight innings while allowing just three runs on 13 hits. St. Thomas tied the game in the third and pulled ahead with a two-RBI single in the sixth, holding on for a 3-1 victory.
Game two saw the Celts jump out early with three runs in the first and add three more in the third to build a comfortable lead. Walker Alsobrooks paced UDallas offensively with three hits and a double, while Dylan Goddard and Cody Jenkins each added a hit. The Crusaders were limited to five hits overall as St. Thomas rolled to a 10-0 win.

Dallas showed late fight in the seventh inning when Sam Campbell delivered an RBI double and Levi Enriquez followed with an RBI single to plate the Crusaders' first runs. Dylan Thane collected two hits in the contest, while Luke Gill also recorded a multi-hit effort, but St. Thomas secured the 12-2 decision to complete the sweep.
