IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Maher Athletic Center, opening the day with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Lone Star College before falling to Paul Quinn College, 3-0, in the evening match.
The Crusaders came out strong in the morning matchup against Lone Star, sweeping the visiting team 25-12, 25-11 and 25-11.
UDallas controlled the match from start to finish, posting a .391 team hitting percentage while holding Lone Star to -.024. The Crusaders also held advantages in kills (33-20), aces (9-1), blocks (2-1), assists (30-17) and digs (30-18).
Jordan Jackson paced the UDallas attack with 11 kills, while Ellie Karasek added eight and Ja'Niyah Boudreaux finished with five. Jackson also led the Crusaders with three service aces, while Boudreaux and Ava Jackson contributed two apiece.
Boudreaux, Riley Mendiola and Karasek each recorded one block at the net. Corrine Brown led the offense with 10 assists, while Anais Ibarra and Ava Jackson added six apiece.
Ava Jackson anchored the defensive effort with nine digs, while Boudreaux added five and Karasek finished with three.
UDallas returned to the court Saturday evening for its final match of the weekend, facing Paul Quinn College. The Crusaders fell 3-0, with Paul Quinn taking the sets 25-23, 25-12 and 25-14.
The Crusaders recorded 33 kills in the match, with Faith Harris leading the way with 13. Boudreaux and Karasek each added six kills.
Paul Quinn finished with a .267 hitting percentage compared to .053 for UDallas and held advantages in kills (42-33), blocks (6-2) and assists (31-26). Both teams finished with three service aces and 61 digs.
Anais Ibarra directed the Crusader offense with 11 assists, while Gisele Morales added seven and Ava Jackson contributed three. At the net, Boudreaux led UDallas with two blocks, while Karasek recorded one.
Ava Jackson once again led the defensive effort with 15 digs. Harris added 14 digs, while Ibarra finished with nine.
With the two results, UDallas finished the weekend with a 2-2 record, moving to 4-4 overall on the 2026 season.
The Crusaders' weekend included a pair of impressive sweeps of Lone Star College and Lyon College, while UDallas battled through four five-set matches and earned victories over McMurry and Lone Star during the weekend.
