Crusaders Defend the Tower

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's basketball headed into the break with a 72–63 victory over Southwestern University on December 19 at the Maher Athletic Center.

The Crusaders and Pirates traded baskets early, with Dallas holding a slim 34–29 halftime lead behind efficient ball movement and strong interior play. UDallas maintained control throughout the second half, answering Southwestern runs with timely scoring and defensive stops.

Dallas shot 47.5 percent from the field and controlled the glass with a 45–31 rebounding advantage, outscoring Southwestern 42–28 in the paint to secure the win.

Top Performers – Game One

  • Terrence Bryant led the Crusaders with 16 points, adding six rebounds while going 5-for-12 from the floor.

  • Johny Olmsted delivered an efficient performance with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

  • Thomas Fleming chipped in 14 points, hitting 2-of-3 from three-point range and pulling down seven rebounds.

IRVING, Texas – Dallas returned to the court on December 28, putting together a dominant offensive showing in a 101–70 win over East Texas Baptist University at the Maher Athletic Center.

The Crusaders set the tone early, building a 48–31 halftime lead behind hot shooting and relentless defensive pressure. UDallas continued to push the tempo in the second half, extending the lead to as many as 32 points while shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 52.4 percent from three-point range.

Dallas finished with 36 bench points, forced 16 turnovers, and scored 26 points off turnovers in a wire-to-wire victory.

Top Performers – Game Two

  • Finley Montoya was lights out from the field with 16 points 5-of-5 shooting, going 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, and perfect from the stripe.
  • Thomas Fleming paced the Crusaders with 16 points in just 24 minutes, knocking down 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
  • Kris Burgan recorded a strong all-around effort with 15 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring the Crusaders on the glass.

  • Terrence Bryant added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, contributing efficiently on both ends of the floor.
